Opinion Essay

Opinion Essay: Which of the sonnets do you think expresses the strongest commitment to a lover relationship” Write a 3 paragraph essay explaining your opinion with supporting from the Sonnets.

Most of Shakespeare's sonnets represent love, but out of all of them Sonnet 130 expresses the most love ro a lover relationship. The lover being portrayed in this sonnet has some good and bad flaw. The speaker talks about his mistress and how her "eyes are nothing like the sun", and "coral is far more red then her lips' red" - Sonnet 130. Those are some of the bad flaws he attributed to his mistress.

He knows that he didn't have a Cinderella, but he says "I think my love as rare" - Sonnet 130. That shows that she is not that pretty to him, but he still loves her, and that expresses a lot of commitment to their relationship. The reason you know he loves her is because he says "I love to hear her speak, yet well I know", and "And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare". Nobody would want someone who doesn't smell good or who's breathe is kicking, but he has made a commitment to this girl.

Sonnet 130 has the strongest commitment to the lover's relationship, because the mistress in this sonnet is not really pretty but her mister is still with her and loves her no matter what. Anyone with a woman that looks like the one from Sonnet 130 would probably be embarrased but the speaker isn't afraid to say he loves her.
