Chapter 3 and 4 Q & A

Chapter 4 Presentation (Rocky)
Dorian spends much of his time with Lord Henry, who manipulates Dorian's mind with his philosophy of subjects such as marriage, women, and fidelity. Dorian reveals his infatuation with Sibyl Vane, and actress. Dorian distances himself more from Basil.Comprehension Check Questions: Who is Victoria? Victoria is Lord Henry’s wife.
How would you characterize Sibyl Vane? According to Dorian she was shy and very gentle.
How/Where did she meet Dorian? The third night when she was playing Rosalind.
What does she call Dorian? Sibyl calls Dorian Prince Charming.
How long do they know each other in the story so far? About three weeks.

Critical Thinking: Examine the relationship between Lord Henry and His wife Victoria and compare with the relationship between Lord Henry and Dorian.
His relation with Dorian is much closer with that of his and Victoria because it seems like he didn’t want to be married to her since he told Dorian to never marry a woman with straw colored hair whom I’m suggesting is Victoria, and when she left the room she didn’t say bye to Lord Henry so there must be a problem amongst them. It also seems that when Dorian talked about Sybil, Lord Henry was not too happy about it, because he is in love with Dorian.
How does Lord Henry feels about the relationship between Dorian and Sibyl? I believe he feels a bit sad and fear that he will lose Dorian, because he shrugged his shoulders when Dorian said he was in love with an actress and he must’ve felt the fear after he found the telegram saying Dorian was engaged to Sibyl.

Analyze Lord Henry's view of women, men and fidelity.
Lord Henry’s views on men are fantasizing because when Dorian was walking up and down the room Lord Henry felt a subtle sense of pleasure, his views on women must be sick of them since he is busy having fantasy’s about Dorian. His fidelity or faithfulness is not too strong because he is having this affair with Dorian.
Analyze the change in the relationship between Dorian and Basil.
The distance between these two get larger because Dorian calls Basil a philistine, and he gets annoyed by things that is said to him by Basil.
